Why portals reject photos
Indian government and exam portals reject uploads for three reasons: wrong pixel dimensions, file size over the limit, or the face not centred. This tool fixes all three. Choose the preset for your portal, zoom and move the photo until your face sits in the frame, and the tool outputs a JPG at the exact dimensions and automatically lowers quality until the file is under the size limit.

Taking a usable photo
Plain light background, even lighting, neutral expression, no glasses glare, head covering only for religious reasons. Shoot straight on at chest height and leave space around the head so the crop has room.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a phone selfie?
Yes, if the background is plain and the lighting is even. Have someone else take it for a straight-on angle.
The file is still over the limit, what now?
Reduce the dimensions slightly or use the Compress image tool on the output.
Does it change my photo's background colour?
No. Take the photo against the colour your portal requires, usually white or light grey.
